Civil Aviation Training Centre to supplying airport employee training
Tuesday, September 26th, 2006The Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC) and Airports of Thailand Plc. (AOT) will sign a memorandum of understanding in October to expand human resource development efforts.
By the end of the year, CATC will instruct about 200 people, who will then be qualified to work at Suvarnabhumi or airlines operating in Thailand. With new facilities in the northeastern provinces of Khon Kaen and Roi-et, CATC hopes to train 300 people next year.
Training focuses on areas like air traffic control and ground service management.
TOT banks on Suvarnabhumi connectivity
Tuesday, September 26th, 2006TOT Plc. expects a solid financial windfall from its telephone and internet services at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
“TOT has invested 100 million baht in setting up a communications system at the new airport and we are confident that we will see a full return on investment within three years,” said Somphon Chanprasert, TOT senior executive vice president.
He added that the state enterprise’s internet and international calling services will be ready for Suvarnabhumi Airport’s opening on Thursday, September 28.
“In case of an emergency, we have an uninterruptible power supply and two fiber optic networks as back up,” said Somphon.
Thai Airways informs the opening of Suvarnabhumi airport to Korean citizens
Tuesday, September 26th, 2006General Manager of Thai Airways International, Korean Branch Mr. Sutsawet Sawetsophon stated that he has created understanding with Korean citizens over the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Mr. Sutsawet disclosed that Korean people have been informed about the opening of new airport on the 28th of September and they would have to switch from Don Muang airport to the new airport from 03.00 hrs of 28th September onwards.
He added that Incheon airport in Korea has been rated one of the top three airport in Asia but he believes Suvarnabhumi airport will overcome competitors soon.
