Demand for Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel surged

Demand for the newly opened Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel has surged to record levels following the successful launch of the new Bangkok airport 28 September.

Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok HotelAccor Reservation Services (ARS) is receiving 15 bookings an hour for the hotel, showing brisk demand for both October and November. The 612-room hotel was overbooked for three nights starting the evening before Suvarnabhumi International Airport commenced operations.

Rates start from 3,380 baht++ (US$90) per night, with tailor made packages including spa treatments and added extras also planned for the coming weeks.




Expected more foreign arrivals at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Airports of Thailand’s President Chotisak Asapaviriya on Sunday voiced confidence more foreign tourists would visit Thailand at end of this year since 10 more airliners expressed intention to land at the Suvarnabhumi Airport.

He said the official inauguration of the airport on September 28 is a proper decision because the Bangkok International Airport at Don Muang could not accommodate the increased number of passengers.

Also, should the Suvarnabhumi Airport open in November or December, the transfer would be more difficult since it is a high season period.




Bangkok Mass Transit to provide more private buses around airport

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority will be providing more private buses for service around Suvarnabhumi airport due to influx of people.

Mr. O-pas Petchmunee , director of Bangkok Mass Transit Authority reveals that after BMTA has participated in service at Suvarnabhumi airport since August until 28th September, the first full day of opening to commercial flights, the amount of passengers have been increasing continually.

CMr Opas also said BMTA will offer sales of month-long ticket at a cost of 1,700 baht each, starting in October 2nd for passengers travelling in and out of Suvarnabhumi airport and also other lines in Bangkok and its surrounding areas.
