Airlines praise Suvarnabhumi airport

National and international airlines have praised an overall improved service at Suvarnabhumi airport which will mark its first anniversary on Sep 28, 2007, airport director Serirat Prasutanond said Thursday.

He said a number of airline managers have lauded the continuous improvement of service at Suvarnbhumi airport, adding that airport officials had followed up on arising problems and worked out solutions accordingly.

One of the positive changes is a permission for licensed taxis to offer service on the second floor of the passenger terminal, starting Oct. 1 to solve the problem of unauthorized taxis touting for passengers, Serirat said.




Passengers will be welcomed with fresh Thai fruits at Suvarnabhumi airport

LonganInternational arrivals passengers at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport will be given a surprise welcome with famous tropical Thai fruits, following the government’s Thai fruit promotion policy.

Serirat Prasuthanond, director of Airports of Thailand (AOT), stated that Suvarnabhumi’s international arrival terminal would be richly flourished with tropical Thai fruits including northern sweet ‘Longan‘, the queen of fruits ‘Mangosteen‘ and juicy southern ‘Longkong‘ to promote Thai fruit among foreigners, under the concept of ‘Experience Thai Taste in Thai Fruits‘ from September 5-11, 2007.

“40,000 international passengers stop at Suvarnabhumi airport each day. It is a good opportunity to promote Thai fruits worldwide,” added the AOT director.
