Cabinet cancels Suvarnabhumi metropolis project
Sunday, April 8th, 2007Military-installed cabinet accepted the Interior Ministry’s request to withdraw the draft bill on the proposed establishment of a special administrative zone around Suvarnabhumi airport from scrutiny by the Council of State.
The move comes because it was the Thaksin government-initiated project and was blasted in a series of recent polls conducted by the military installed’s ministry.
Deputy military’s government spokeswoman Netpreeya Chumchaiyo said the request was accepted after the ministry forwarded the findings and recommendations of a series of surveys on the draft bill.
Bangkok voted as the best city leisure destination
Thursday, February 22nd, 2007Bangkok has been voted the world’s best city destination for leisure and The Oriental Hotel won the best hotel award, according to a poll by Asia’s luxury travel and lifestyle magazine, DestinAsian.
Readers of the magazine say the Thai capital reigns supreme among Asian cities mostly due to its “great food and nightlife“, plenty of shopping and sightseeing to be had here as well as being an “excellent value for money“.
